Monsterpocalipse had novelty, had rules that made sense, solved the situations rather than complicate them. It was beautiful, fun, fun to open, nice to see parts are grouped, arranged in formation.
The strategic element was well arranged. You had to know where to place each soldier to gain speed or defense or attack. Had to position your group very well, because normally be attacked on the flanks meant death if their precise forces battle.
